Then after numerous returns to dealer with concerns head still leaking (using half bottle of coolant/800km) it was finally identified that the EGR cooler had a leak, again fixed under warranty. You can confirm this quite easily by putting it in third gear when stopped, and trying to take off. Axle Binding Axle binding is caused by a CV joint bending so far that the internal bearings and cage lock up and can't turn freely. 2018 Dmax It is our on-farm vehicle. The repair is not pleasant; it requires the engine to be removed, and the cracks welded up or inner panels replaced, but theres no guarantee it wont happen again. If you see a broken Dmax on the side of a 4WD track, theres a pretty high chance the two front wheels are pointing inwards towards each other. It seems the cracks are caused by either stress or metal fatigue and are most likely to show up on the suspension towers, near the VIN plate or low down on the inner guards.
